High-Purity Benzoic Acid from Integrated Recovery

Benzoic Acid (BA) is recovered from the liquid residue stream of IGPL's phthalic anhydride production process. The same catalytic oxidation that produces PA also generates benzoic acid as a liquid-phase byproduct, which IGPL captures, purifies, and commercialises.

Benzoic acid is a versatile aromatic carboxylic acid with a wide range of applications, spanning food-grade preservatives, pharmaceutical intermediates, industrial plasticisers (benzyl benzoate), and sodium benzoate for beverage preservation.

IGPL's integrated production model means BA is produced at zero marginal feedstock cost, making it competitively priced against standalone manufacturing routes while maintaining commercial-grade purity.
